Sweet Baby weighs as much as a Pineapple!
This week I have finally gotten a taste of how uncomfortable it can be to be pregnant towards the end. I can’t sit on the floor without shooting pains in my legs and butt, and cramps when I walk to much or too fast. Did I mention how much I have to go to the bathroom? Aside from all the little things I’m still enjoying every bit of this pregnancy. No one said making a little human was easy, but one thing is true… It’s so worth it!
About our baby:
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He’s rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren’t fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don’t entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood. (summary and weekly image from babycenter
