Making a meal for our family was almost impossible last year due to Kay’s FPIES food allergy.  This year I can actually make RECIPES from websites.  What’s even better is because she can eat more foods I know how to substitute ingredients.  Tonight I made Spicy Chicken Lasagna Roll-Ups from the Kraft website.  While Kay can’t have chicken, she can have pork.  So I made it with pork instead, and it’s so good!

While our family favorites include spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, stuffed shells, and anything other traditional Italian meal you’d make with sauce, we have many other uses for sauce too!  One might think this idea is actually brilliant.  My daughter is super picky with food that she eats so I figured we’d switch up our ordinary grilled cheese sandwich and add some Heinz Classico Family Favorites Traditional Sauce.   The flavor the sauce gives to the grilled cheese is incredible!  It’s like a pizza, with just a few ingredients!

Finding a safe food for your child can be a challenge, finding a safe chocolate can be even more challenging for a child with food allergies.  Most chocolate contains soy, nuts, or processed around those allergens.  My daughter suffers from a food allergy called FPIES.

Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES) is not your typical food allergy where you would see hives, fast reaction, anaphylaxis, these are IgE-mediated.  FPIES is Non-IgE-mediated, meaning you can’t do skin/blood tests, it’s typically an internal manifestation however more people are saying their children also suffer some external symptoms like eczema.

Gymboree clothing is perfect for back to school clothes shopping for the kiddos, and even just because.  In fact whenever we go to a baby shower I love to get a few outfits for baby from Gymboree!   The clothing quality can’t be beat and the styles are ALWAYS the cutest!  We just went to Wildwood, NJ in July and Kay needed a bunch of outfits for our adventures.  We found a bunch of deals on clearance too!  The shorts above are actually a YEAR old.  She wore those shorts last year!  What I love is that I can actually buy her an outfit this year and it will fit next year.  The colors don’t fade, and the material holds up so well.
