Strawberry Mango Infused Water

Make this strawberry mango infused water for a refreshing fruit infused water. I love mango infused water with strawberries so that is how I made this recipe that is perfect to enjoy throughout the day with fresh refills of some cold water.

Strawberry Mango Infused Water

Our body needs vitamins, minerals, most importantly water. I’m sharing our Strawberry Mango Infused water to encourage you to drink water and eat your fruits! Ever have spa water when you went out? Make it at home! I ensure that I get them with vitamins, but I also like to enjoy whole foods that contain all the necessary nutrients my body needs. Did you know that Mangos contain over 20 vitamins and minerals? They’re bursting with flavor, and they’re so juicy when they’re ripe. I could just peel a mango and eat it like an apple. They have only 100 calories per cup! They come in a variety of colors like green, yellow and red.

WHY INFUSED WATER

Infused water is a great alternative to sodas and sports drinks. I personally love drinking plain water, but others do not. Fruit and vegetable infused water has extra vitamins and nutrients.

DID YOU KNOW, the sap on mangoes can cause a poison ivy reaction?

mangoes poison ivy  ?!

what?!

Yes, I have a really bad reaction to eating mangoes from the grocery store over the summer, but I was absolutely fine with the mangoes I was sent for this post. I’ve learn that the sap is the dangerous part for me. I need to steer clear of cutting mangoes and then touching my skin, no more eating right off the seed for me, unfortunately.  Some can be allergic to the actual mangoes, I’m just allergic to the skin/sap. Mango skin bark and leaves contain, urushiol, as in poison ivy, as in really itchy.

I just recommend being cautious if you like to eat mangoes from the seed. I had to take some heavy steriods, steriod creams and had a burning red rash all over my face and arms.

I’ll stick with delivered mangoes, no more buying from the store.

One cup of mango provides an excellent source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, copper not to mention a great source of fiber. I love the flavor of mango and use it in recipes, but I’ll admit that it’s hard not to eat them when they’re ripe as is! I’ll buy some for a recipe and poof I ate it as soon as it was ready to go. My dream would be to have fresh, ripe mangos delivered to my door weekly.

Easy remove the mango flesh from the skin by using a cup! We do this all the time and it never fails, works perfectly every time!

WHY STRAWBERRY MANGO INFUSED WATER

Mangos are an excellent snack for recovery after training and even regular exercise. The antioxidants in mangos help protect the body against free radicals. I know that some it may be hard to drink tons of water. That’s why I’m sharing our Strawberry Mango Lime Infused Water Recipe. It’s a great way to get your vitamins and minerals and also get your water in too! If you make it the morning of consumption you can snack on the leftover fruit. It will be a little watery and not as sweet as it flavored the water, but I still think it tastes delicious and no need to waste that perfect fruit. If you don’t like lime you can use lemon, orange or grapefruit. The citrus really helps break down the fruits a little more and gives the water more flavor.

How to pick out a mango: A ripe mango will give a bit when you squeeze gently. Just like a peach you want one that is soft and no blemishes. The color is not an indicator of a ripe mango.

Mangos are a favorite of mine. I think they blend beautifully with strawberries especially! When I don’t consume them on their own, I like to make Strawberry Mango Nice Cream, Fresh Fruit Salsa, and even a Strawberry Mango Banana Smoothie.

We love the creaminess mangos gives to recipes like ice cream, ice pops, and smoothies. If we find them at a good price we’ll even chop them up and freeze; they’re delicious frozen. There’s no wrong or right way to enjoy this delicious tropical fruit. Have you tried mangos yet? If you haven’t yet, you must!
