We paired Oceans Naturals Wild Premium Tuna with gorgeous peppers, a colorful and healthy lunch that is naturally delicious. Most if not all of our food is organic or local. We’re very health conscious about what we put into our body these days, after all it’s the only one you get in this lifetime. I’ve shared other healthy tuna recipes before as we’re big fans of tuna and it eat quite often about 2-3 times a month. Tuna is always the main ingredient in any tuna recipes that we come up with.
Another thing we really appreciate is with Ocean Naturals you can learn more about where your specific tuna came from by visiting their website and entering the code on the can. I don’t know about you but I like to know where my food comes from!
Oceans Naturals immediately caught our attention. It’s a Good, Good For You, and Good for the Planet. The Skipijack Tuna not only is beautifully packaged but it’s Wild Caught Tuna. Tonight I figured I’m make a healthy lunch for hubby for a few days so he can bring it to work, as well as a quick healthy dinner for myself. I’ll be honest I don’t remember the last time I just ate tuna with mayo! When you add that you’re really covering up the taste and lightness of the tuna. Canned tuna isn’t a big concern for me since that’s the only thing we eat canned so we CAN be happy about this choice. Oceans Naturals is currently only in select Walmart stores. Also with Sweet Baby’s FPIES food allergy (food protein induced enterocolitis syndrome) we try to eat even more clean. Some may say that during the colder months you get to hibernate and eat whatever – but that’s almost half the year! I’m choosing health year round ya’ll. So I came up with a delicious and light healthy lunch or healthy dinner whichever you choose to use it for using Ocean Naturals Tuna. It’s perfectly balanced and just the right amount of goodness to get your day going or end it on a good note. Hubby loves to snack on this with some pita chips and I prefer some romaine like a taco – the best part is there’s no wrong or right way to eat it. I’ve even been known to just eat it by the spoonful, it’s that good! With that said.. here’s the recipe!
Lemon Pepper Tuna Salad
Lemon Pepper Tuna Salad Recipe – great lunch recipe!
- 2 cans tuna
- 1 Red Pepper
- 1 Orange Pepper
- 1 Yellow Pepper
- 1/2 Small Onion
- 1 Roma Tomato
- 1 Lemon (juiced)
- 1 Teaspoon Olive Oil
- Salt + Pepper to Taste
Drain tuna and smash with a fork until broken up.
Chop the vegetables itty bitty. I used a dicer for this so I can achieve uniform pieces.
Once chopped add to tuna along with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix until combined and enjoy.
Like I said I love to eat them with romaine – I make a Tuna salad “Taco”.
