Last year we purchase curious chef knives for our mini chef and she LOVES to use them! They’re great for her to use in the kitchen and she can really cut food using them. They’re definitely not just toys.
We purchased the green curious chef knives, but you can also find them in red and orange!
She’s able to cut soft foods and hard foods. We were thoroughly impressed with them cutting through celery and dragon fruit.
Each set comes with 3 nylon knives. 1 small, 1 medium, and 1 large. They have serrated edges, comfortable ergonomic handles with soft grips for little hands. They’re ideal for mini chefs! Did I mention they’re dishwasher safe?
These knives contain no BPA so no worries there either.
Also, we purchased her the measuring spoons and measuring cups. I even find myself using the measuring cups and spoons. The knives also work great for parents too. We love using them for lettuce. They have a huge caddy collection too!
We originally purchased a kid-friendly cutting board for her. However, the cutting board got water trapped in the pocket, gross! We just let her use our boos cutting board when chopping now.
There are many chef knife sets for kids on the market, but we chose to go with nylon for safety. Once our Mini Chef is 100% comfortable with these knives we’ll move onto metal knives. The curious chef knives are comfortable and easy for kids to use and they come in a variety of fun colors. Kids can pick their favorites!
