Building my Daughter’s Self-Esteem
One day she asked me “Mommy, am I beautiful?” I didn’t know where she got that from until she told me about a woman in the store who commented on her hair. The woman had told me “good luck with her hair, she’s going to hate it when she’s older.” She’s getting older, and she understands more too. She even got to the point where she got upset since she has to have her hair brushed because it gets knotty every day. So I did what any mama would do, I let my hair get knotty overnight and let her brush my knots. OH MY GOSH, IT HURT! She wasn’t as careful as I was, but I wanted to show her that mommy has knotty hair too, even though it’s not curly.
She has so many beauty marks, and at first, she was sad when one popped up on her nose, I told her it’s because she’s beautiful. God gives you beauty marks where you extra beautiful.
