You guys.. I have a thing for brown sugar. I don’t just use it for baking, but cooking too! You could easily make this recipe work for chicken and steak, but I just love this combo on pork chops and even ribs!

This recipe really only needs the 3 ingredients, but you could also add in garlic for another flavor note if you want brown sugar garlic pork chops. We do a similar recipe like this for baked boneless skinless chicken thighs.

When I first made this recipe my husband went crazy. He saw me seasoning the meat and thought I wasn’t doing enough, but sure enough – we both loved it! SO simple and nearly everyone has to have the ingredients on hand. My family now requests Brown Sugar Pork Chops at least once a week!

What I love is that my whole family can enjoy this recipe. My daughter can be super picky about toppings and this is just a simple seasoning recipe that she loves. What kid doesn’t love sweet? We recently did this on a pork loin in our slow cooker with a little bit of chicken broth in the bottom and it was SO GOOD!

We added in some potatoes and carrots as well. I just recently had surgery so my husband is going back to all of my recipes and making them. I made this before I had surgery and I’m glad I did! It’s an easy weeknight dinner that my husband can cook and have little to no prep. The hardest part is going shopping for the pork chops, ha!

SWEENTER OPTIONS:

If you don’t like using brown sugar you can easily swap out with honey or even maple syrup, just know it won’t taste exactly the same, but you’ll still have that sweetness.

HOW LONG TO BAKE PORK CHOPS AT 350:

How long to cook pork chops will depend on the thickness. We aim for 25-35 minutes, depending on the thickness. You always want to make sure they’re cooked to your liking by using a thermometer. The pork chop temperature should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit. I actually like to cook ours until they’re well done.

TIPS FOR GETTING THE PERFECT CRUST ON YOUR PORK CHOPS:

If you want a crispy exterior to your pork chops you can sear them prior to baking in the oven in a hot skillet with a little olive oil and butter. We actually skip this step since we don’t mind not having a crispy exterior, but when you’re entertaining it’s nice to have that beautifully browned pork chop.

The seasoning is a little harder to do when you sear them, so we suggest just adding a tiny bit of salt and pepper when pan searing pork chops then adding the full mixture of brown sugar, salt, and pepper when baking. You can also broil them at the end.
