Hey mamas!
It’s that time of the year again! I’m doing my 12 Days series again this year. Last year, I posted for 12 days straight of free resources like Tailwind Tribes, planners and more.
This year I want to do something a little bit different. I want to share some pin-tastic Pinterest tips! Pinterest is my BFF and I realize I don’t talk about “her” much on Twins Mommy.
So, for the next 12 days, I’m going to be sharing some Pinterest tips to help you grow your blog traffic, list, and income.

Day 7: 5 Poppin’ Pinterest Podcasts for Bloggers
Day 8: 4 Pinterest Tools to Help You Grow Your Blog Traffic
For today I want to talk about how to grow your email list using Pinterest.
Ahh, the email list.
The holy grail for bloggers.
It’s true; the more people on your list, the more potential income you can have. But, trying to grow your email list can seem like it’s nonexistent or growing at a snail’s pace.
Or, maybe you don’t have an email list yet?
In either case, you can use Pinterest to start promoting your email list. Here are three easy ways.
1. Pin Your Lead Magnet
When I first started growing my Twins Mommy email list, I did not have a landing page or separate page for my freebies (lead magnets).
I’m not sure when I clued in, but when I did, I created a landing page or a page on my WordPress blog just to promote my lead magnet.
This meant I can place social sharing buttons on it and share it on Pinterest. Here’s what my Start Grow Earn free email course page looks like on my site:
From here I can pin that page and when people click on it, they will go to my WordPress page or landing page.
Doing this effectively grows your email list faster. The more ways people can opt into your email list, the faster it will grow.
2. Place a Graphic in Your Pin
One of the earliest strategies I used for list building was to show a preview of my freebie on a pin graphic. I noticed other pinners doing this and it was suggested by an influencer, so I decided to give it a try.
And it works!
Here’s an example of one of my pins promoting my affiliate guide:
You can easily create this in Canva or Picmonkey and start list building today!
3. Have an Optin on Every Blog Post
This is the most crucial step to growing your list. Having an optin on every post means that any person that comes from social media will land on any of your posts.
You want these random people to start following you and to do that, you need a form so they can sign up.
ConvertKit makes it super easy to place an optin form on any of your blog post. Here’s a quick video on that:

Bonus: Quick Tips on Creating Your Freebie
If you have a brand new email list, the number one way to start list building is by creating an incentive for them to sign up.
I see a lot of great blogs and poor incentives. Most of them just say, “sign up to my list to get notified of my newsletters.”
This isn’t enticing enough for me to sign up to their list. A better way is to create a freebie that’s valuable for your audience.
This means understanding your target audience by knowing their pain points and challenges.
For example, say you have a Paleo food blog. You’re a mom and you want to help other moms with getting their children on board with Paleo eating.
From that, try to see what their struggles are. You can look at comments on your posts, looking at Facebook group discussions and seeing on Pinterest what other Paleo blogs are writing about.
From that, you learn your audience is struggling with how to start introducing Paleo to their kids.
Based on that, you can create a freebie on:
- 5 Fail-Proof Paleo Snacks Your Kids Will Devour – can be delivered as a video or as recipe cards
- Get Paleo Checklist: Learn what to ditch and what you need to start eating Paleo as a family
- 10 Paleo Alternatives for Snacks Your Children Love – a resource to help moms find alternative snacks for their children
You can see from these freebie examples, that I used the audiences pain points and tried to develop some quick solutions to help them.
This will attract the right target audience and help me grow an engaging email list that wants to learn more about Paleo eating as a family.
